Javier Bertrán is a renowned Judicial Medical Expert, is accredited as a Medical Expert by the Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Barcelona belonging to its Collegiate Section of Expert Medicine, Appraisal and Insurance, and is a member of the Catalan Association of Judicial and Forensic Experts (ACPJF).

He has a degree in Medicine and Surgery and a Masters in Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Pathology from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB). He is an MIR specialist in Clinical Biochemistry, as well as the holder of a double postgraduate degree in Endocrinology and Treating Obesity from Harvard Medical School, as well as being part of the Harvard Medical School Continuing Education Association. Furthermore, he is Auditor of Systems of Prevention of Workplace Risks for the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Master in Valuation of Corporal Injury, Master in PRL speciality of Industrial Hygiene and Insurance Expert for the University of Barcelona (UB).
